Psychometric Properties of the Persian Version of the Early Life Experiences Scale (ELES)

Background: Early relationships with parents and their influence on the development of psychopathology have been a topic interest from different theoretical approaches. Early-life experiences long-term distributive effects children’s psychological behavioral development. Objectives: The present study aimed to determine validity reliability Life Experiences Scale (ELES). Methods: For developing Persian version ELES, original scale was translated, reconciled, back-translated. A sample 231 students Iran University Medical Sciences selected by convenience sampling method in 2019 - 2020 responded questionnaires, namely Difficulties Emotion Regulation (DERS), Schizotypal Trait questionnaire-B form (STB), Self-compassion (SCS) Short-Form. construct ELES determined via confirmatory factor analysis divergent convergent validity. Internal consistency test-retest (two-week interval) were applied evaluate reliability. Data performed using LISREL (version 8.80) SSPS 20) software. Results: results showed that is reliable valid tool good internal (> 0.70). Concerning validity, significant positive correlation DERS (r = 0.26) STB 0.37). It also negative relationship self-compassion 0.45), which indicates desired support three-factor structure this (submissiveness, feeling valued/unvalued, threatened) (comparative fit index (CFI): 0.96, normed (NFI): 0.95, root mean square error approximation (RMSEA): 0.08). Conclusions: early life adequate can be evaluating Iranian population.
